From Seth MacFarlane the creator of 'American Dad' and 'Family Guy' comes this spin off: 'The Cleveland Show.' For those already familiar with Peter Griffin and his family you will know who Cleveland Brown is.

Cleveland is the quiet, calm, thoughtful drinking buddy of Peter and now he has his own spin-off show. As fans will already know Cleveland divorced his domineering wife Loretta in 'Family Guy' series 4.

In this new show he loses his house and returns to his hometown with his obese son, Junior. There he marries his childhood sweetheart, Donna Tubbs-Brown and moves in with her two children: Roberta and Rallo.

Anyone familiar with Seth MacFarlane's previous work will know that he likes to shock and his humour is not always shall we say, politically correct.

I'm sure this show will uphold that tradition. Hopefully it will be a spin-off in the mould of 'Frasier' rather than 'The Green Green Grass.' That's the trouble sometimes, what seems at first like a great idea can soon fall flat.

The good news about this one is that Fox have already commissioned a second series so they must have faith in it.

'The Cleveland Show' can be seen on E4 on Monday's from 10pm.

Perhaps more incredibly the resident of 221B Baker Street still endures as a popular and instantly recognizable character today nearly eighty years after Doyle’s passing.
