This Thursday sees yet another travel show. But before you run away this is no polished Alan Whicker, Bill Bryson, Michael Palin or Stephen Fry effort! The beauty of this new show is that its host is far from an expert or an experienced traveller and raconteur with a pithy remark for any sight or situation. No this new series is fronted by Karl Pilkington: Radio producer, television presenter and author.
He is better known for his observations on the brilliant podcasts which were turned into the animated 'Ricky Gervais Show' recently screened on Channel 4 and E4.Pilkington with his hangdog expression, dour, deadpan demeanour and quirky takes on modern life promises to be a new kind of travel reporter.

The emotion Higgins showed at winning the title as he clutched his wife and child to him was moving and memorable. It is an enduring image of a real 'sports personality.'

This Saturday coming (28th August) sees the terrestrial debut of an excellent and original film that combines action, comedy and poignancy to great effect. It is a real rare gem that will thrill, make you laugh and move you as well.
'In Bruges' is a triumph for director and writer Martin McDonagh ('Six Shooter' also worth checking out). With a typically quirky take and view on life the script is full of humour delivered with scatter-gun speed.
